Real cheese is a living, breathing thing. Show it some love and you can enjoy it to its full taste potential!

Don’t wrap it in plastic!

Use greaseproof or waxed paper and wrap it up tightly.

After a few days, wrap your cheese in a new piece of paper to keep it fresh.

Keep it in the salad drawer or the warmest part of your fridge. It could also be stored in its own Tupperware box. If you find your cheese dries out quickly put a slightly damp clean cloth in with it.

Buy enough to last you just over a week, this will ensure it is in peak condition for whatever occasion you want it for.

Don’t be scared of a bit of mould! Mould is a very important part of cheese production – it imparts flavour and character to a cheese. Just use the back of a knife to scrape any surface mould off, then enjoy!

When serving your cheese, take it out of the fridge at least half an hour before you want to eat it, this will allow its wonderful flavours and aromas to come through.

Don’t freeze cheese unless you are only going to use it to cook with. Although it won’t harm the cheese, freezing will alter its texture and flavour
